There are a lot of blog posts out there about this, but as a summarised and by no means conclusive list, I would advise:
- Ensuring all Virtual Machines are fully service packed and updated
- Uninstalling the Virtual Machine Additions from your Virtual Server 2005 VMs
- This is required before the Integration Services can be installed for Hyper-V which is a must for network support and proper control of VMs amongst other things
- Understanding the different approach taken with Hyper-V virtual networking including the use of the virtual switch
- External, Internal and Private
- Enabling Virtualisation Support via your BIOS if not done already
- When enabled this seems to slow Virtual Server down hugely, but is required for Hyper-V
- Fully updating your Parent Partition Operating System
Also if you want to manage Hyper-V from you Vista Workstation I would install the Windows Vista Service Pack 1 Management Tools update for the release version of Hyper-V which you can download from...
